Empowering Communities Through Value-Added Agro Processing

Negonja Organics Ltd (NOL) is a fruit drying company located in Zirobwe, Luweero District. We are an export company and, together with our strategic partners, we have connected small-holder farmers in Uganda with consumers in the Global market. Our main products are dried pineapple, dried jackfruit, dried mango, dried banana and plantain chips, which are packaged for the bulk or retail market as required by a cient, increasing value addition and agro-processing in Uganda.

NOL’s factory is managed and operated entirely by Ugandans, over 95 percent of whom are youths. A majority of the factory staff are women, and women hold important management and supervisory positions. In short, NOL and RAD Snack Trade are an example of private sector business fulfilling the role envisaged in Uganda’s National Development Plan—helping to raise rural incomes, creating employment opportunities for youth and empowering women.
With the scaling up of production, we expect to employ 300-500 workers in the factory and expand our fruit supply network to over 1000 farmers.
